I am a Toronto professional in the Architectural and Renovation field but my husband and I are working on becoming nomads. Our Toronto home and our Muskoka cottage remain our pride and joy but our favourite thing to do is see the world, hopefully by bike or on foot, but always trying to stay in private homes through homelink/airbnb. We love the surprise of interesting homes in amazing locations and in that spirit we offer ours to you.
We live in a downtown neighbourhood in Toronto's west end near High Park. It is close to downtown by bike, multiple transit option (subway, 3 street car lines) but it is in a quiet setting. We are in the neighbourhood of Roncesvalles Village which has everything you need a few steps away.

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our recently renovated 2 bedroom apartment is located in Toronto's West end near the waterfront and transit. The home is best suited to a couple or a couple plus one. We are a 15 minute walk to High Park, the Waterfront Trail and Bloor West shops and subway. This ground floor apartment has a small patio, which includes an additional private entrance/exit to the unit. So you don't need to use any elevators or main lobby. The immediate area is a walkers or cyclists paradise as it is right next to High Park and the Great Lakes Waterfront trail which is an amazing bike path with endless possibilities. The building is in a quiet residential neighbourhood and a wonderfully friendly and quiet building.
The open concept kitchen, living and dining area is a generous and super comfortable space. Master bedroom is large and has a king size bed with walk in closet.
The spare bedroom has a Queen Murphy bed so the room can be used as a den if not needed for sleeping.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is in one of Toronto's very liveable downtown neighbourhoods. This un-touristic neighbourhood is a 20 minute walk to the lovely retail strip of Bloor West where you will find the Bloor subway, restaurants and all conveniences. And only a couple minute's walk away is one of Toronto's iconic gourmet food stores, The Cheese Boutique along with a fish shop and a Gelateria/coffee bar.
We are close to multiple transit options, including the Bloor subway line, so the heart of the city is about to 40 minutes away.
Multiple recreational options are right outside the door: Toronto's 400 acre High Park, the 760 km Waterfront trail, the Humber River trail and Humber Bay Park. If you want to bring bikes, they can easily be stored right outside one of the apartment doors. We have private indoor 1parking.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
High Park and Grenadier Pond are a 5 minute walk away. There is skating on the pond in winter and the 400 acre Park is open all year and has wonderful walking and biking trails as well as a cafe and a zoo. In summer there are outdoor plays and concerts and in Spring the famous 'Cherry Blossom' time attracts people from all over the city.
The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail is also a few minutes walk away. This multi-use trail stretches 3600 km and is a wonder to explore. It is a wonderful way to do a tour of Toronto's waterfront and different neighbourhoods along the lake. For the ambitious, f you go West you can reach Niagara Falls and if you go East you can reach Gananoque and the Thousand Islands, to name only a few great biking destinations.
