Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Ottawa is a city of approximately a million people and as the capital offers numerous cultural and historical highlights. One of the most popular is the 7 km. Rideau Canal, a short walk from our home. The Canal is a fabulous place to walk, cycle or even to rent a kayak and paddle. In the winter months it is a popular place to skate and enjoy the Winterlude festival. Nearby cycle paths link our neighbourhood to the Ottawa River Parkway including Parliament hill, the War Museum, and beaches. The Central Experimental farm, gardens and Arboretum are a block away and offer another place to stroll. Nearby Preston St. offers restaurants, cafes, gelaterias and a Comedy Club for entertainment while Landsdowne (30 min. walk) offers a seasonal market, cinemas, eateries, and sports events.
