Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Ours is a comfortable three bedroom home with a view of the Pacific Ocean and coastal mountains out the front window. Beautfiul Miracle Beach is less than a half hour drive away. It is about a 40 minute drive to the ski hill from our door to the lodge on Mount Washington. We are also only minutes away from miles of forested hiking and cycling trails. The ferry to Vancouver is a 1.5 hour drive or bus ride away and the beautiful city of Victoria is a 3 hour drive way. There are ferry connections right in Campbell River to other islands such as Quadra Island (only 5 minutes away) if you want to explore. Overall, this is a wonderful spot from which you can golf, ski, fish, organize whale watching and wildlife bear tours, or visit other cities in beautiful British Columbia. You will want to visit our local museum and art gallery for information on the area and the art and culture of our First Nations as well! (Please note that we have moved and no longer have a hot tub on our deck which our Australian exchangers mention in their kind notes)

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

In our neighbourhood, you are just a couple of minutes away from a system of trails that are great for hiking or biking. It is a quiet neighbourhood but only a few minutes walk to movies, shopping, pharmacy and restaurants. It is about a ten minute drive to downtown and about a half hour to beautiful beaches or 45 minutes to the chairlifts on Mount Washington, our local ski hill. It is an easy walk or bike ride down to the Rotary Sea Walk from our house. Once on the Seawalk, you can run, walk or cycle north all the way downtown or south to WillowPoint Shopping area or reef for excellent ocean exploration at low tides!

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

From our house, it is an easy walk or bike ride to grocery shopping, the best sushi restaurant in town, movie theatres, pub, bike shop, and pharmacy. You have a view of the Pacific Ocean and close access to miles of hiking trails. You are only a two and a half hour drive from Victoria or three hours to Tofino on the west coast of the island.
