Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

WE HAVE AN EXCHANGE FOR 2023.

130-year-old Victorian home on 4 acres just 25 minutes from Halifax and Peggy's Cove. Our home has 3 bedrooms with a king-size bed in the master bedroom, a queen-size bed in the guest room (both on the 2nd floor) and a queen-size bed in the loft (3rd floor). We have two bathrooms, one on the first floor and one on the second. Rooms are spacious with cathedral ceilings in the kitchen and master bedroom. Cleaning lady cleans the house every two weeks. There's a propane fireplace in the summer kitchen and a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. We have three tiered decks with private eating area on the lower deck, a 12'x12' solarium on the middle deck and seating area and great views on the upper deck. The ocean is across the street and it's incredibly peaceful here with beautiful sunsets. We have two sea kayaks you can use to paddle around beautiful St. Margaret's Bay with its many small uninhabited islands. If you're fortunate you can see seals, tuna, porpoises, great herons, and bald eagles. We have two bicycles you can use. We have a large vegetable garden, greenhouse and raspberry patch. We live on a 4-acre lot with no neighbours behind us. There's a walking/hiking/biking trail that passes in front of the house. It's a converted railway so you can bike to towns in either direction. You can sometimes see deer or foxes on the trails. We live in the country so a car is a must.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport is 51 kms away (about a 40 minute drive). There are direct flights from London (Heathrow) to Halifax year-round. The following cities have direct flights to Halifax from April - Oct only: Paris, Reykjavik, Glasgow, Frankfurt and London (Gatwick).
