We are a venetian couple of travelers and music-lovers. We love meeting new friends and broaden "in the field" our knowledge of foreign countries: if we combine our experiences, we have already visited more than 40 countries all over the world... And we hope to visit just as many in the future!
Chiara studies American Literature and teaches English to children; Leonardo is a graphic designer and a blues guitarist.
It is our first experience as home-exchangers, but we are used to hosting people for brief and medium terms. Reference/feedbacks available.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
APARTMENT CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXCHANGES / APPARTAMENTO MOMENTANEAMENTE NON DISPONIBILE.
Our home is in a section of the ancient Palazzo Falier, close to Campo Santi Apostoli and right behind Ca' da Mosto palace, one of the most ancient on the Canal Grande and in the entire city (at the moment under restoration).
There are two comfortable and air-conditioned bedrooms, one has a double bed and the other has a double and a single bed. Of the two bathrooms, one has a shower and the other a bathtub.
Kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, oven, and two tables (4 seats each): all the necessary to prepare your meals at home!
The living room is bright and spacious, with two sofas, a small tv-set, dvd player, air-conditioning, and our beloved ficus tree, Obi-Wan; from this room you can access the terrace.
Our home is perfect for anyone who wishes to live the most authentic Venice!
It is just 5 minutes walking from Rialto Bridge, Rialto Market, Ca' d'Oro, and Fondamenta Nove (from here, you can take the water-bus to Murano and Burano), and just 15 minutes from St. Mark's Square, Teatro La Fenice, and the Ghetto.
We can't wait to share it with other travelers like us!

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is at the border between the picturesque and characteristic "sestiere" (neighborhood) of Cannaregio and that of San Marco, more crowded and touristic, just a few steps from Rialto--in one of the most ancient areas of the city. Nearby there are supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, water-bus stops, local shops, and of course restaurants, "bacari" (traditional venetian taverns), and bars–some of which offer live music too. Many of our favorite places are right here!
Cannaregio is perfect both for a quiet dinner along the canal and a walk while admiring the lagoon, and for enjoying the venetian nightlife along the lively Fondamenta de la Misericordia, where spritz, "ombre" (wine), and "cicheti" (the "venetian finger-food") reign! Rialto area is very popular at nighttime too:where the ancient storehouses of the market used to be now it is full of bars.

It is very important to respect the neighborhood quiet hours.
We do care about the environment, so please turn off the air-conditioning system when you are not at home (rooms get cool in a very short time once you turn it on again when you come back).
