Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Ciao, this apartment is a small, warm, cute mountain apartment for 4 people and enjoys a privileged exposure to the sun and a natural environment. From the window you could see an extraordinary view of the mountains. It has been recently renovated and is composed by a kitchen with a livingroom, a bathroom with shower and washing machine, a bedroom with a double bed and a (very small) room with a bunk bed.
People who have been there have used the same adjective to describe this place: "...regenerating". For a description of the area I refer you to the description that you will find below.
The apartment is available in all periods because we don't live there. Danta di Cadore is a place for alla seasons because in winter you usually can sky in a place at 15 minutes by car, and in spring, summer and autumn you can walk breathing clean air and seeing some nice villages around. In the apartment there isn't wi fi.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Located at 1400 meters of altitude, Danta di Cadore enjoys a privileged exposure to the sun and a natural environment almost intact, covered for large areas of dense coniferous woods: mainly fir and larches. It offers naturalistic elements of great interest for the many biodiversities present in its territory and panoramic points of exceptional beauty. The crown of mountains that surrounds it without overwhelming it gives it a touch of royalty and allows it to have a face-to-face relationship with its peaks. All around the village an alternation of woods and green meadows that from May are filled with flowers changing color shades gradually. Two recently studied peat bogs cover a wealth of important information on the secrets of world history and are rich in vegetation with rare plants and tiny carnivorous flowers. Almost all the protected alpine flora and an extraordinary number of spontaneous orchids are present on the territory. Danta offers the visitor the face of an ancient and austere country, silent and with very little traffic. The inhabitants are proud and affable, aware of yesterday's sacrifices. If you are looking for a sparkling holiday, people, shopping, a bit of awe DO NOT COME HERE; here it is for those who love silence, high-altitude walks, nature, the sky crossed by swallows and hawks, signed by the rainbow immediately after the storm

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
As well as walks to see all the things described above, in Danta di Cadore you can reach the surrounding villages where you can find typical products to eat and crafts. The nearby cities are Auronzo or Santo Stefano di Cadore (20 minutes by car or bus), but the most famous places near Danta are Cortina ("the pearl of the dolomites"), the Misurina lake, and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Unesco heritage). Besides all this at about 45 minutes there is the beautiful cityes of San Candido and Dobiaco. And there, in a few kilometer you are in Austria! A splendid and famous cycling route is San Canido - Lienz (bikes can be hired in San Candido) a wonderful journey through woods and rivers that will take you from Italy to Austria (then you can return by train)
