We are a family of 2, Evelyn and Geoff Devenney. Evelyn is a retired teacher and Geoff has a local hardware store. We exchanged many times in the past , when our children were young. We have so many wonderful memories of our exchanges, indeed we have even made some lifelong friends from exchanges. We have decided to return to exchanging this year and are excited to see what this will bring. Our son and daughter-in- law live near us. They have a little daughter, Eloise and they wish to join us in our exchange this year. We love exploring scenic areas, walking and cycling. We enjoy swimming in the sea and exploring beaches and historic sites.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live within a 10 min walk of the historic town of Raphoe. Raphoe has the the necessary shopping amenities, such as supermarket, butchers, chemist and to an excellent farm shop selling local fruit and veg. The prehistoric Beltony Stone Circle is nearby and the ancient Cathedral and Bishop's Palace are interesting attractions. We have some very friendly neighbours, some of whom are exchangers themselves who would be more than happy to assist you in any way. The land around our home consists of lovely rolling fields and wooded areas, such as Drumboe Woods in Stranorlar or the fascinating bird sanctuary/ walk around Inch Level, a bird lovers paradise. There are fishing and golf facilities within easy driving range. Right on our doorstep is the famous Oakfield Park, owned by Sir Gerry Robinson and his wife, Lady Heather. Here you can take a train around the extensive grounds or spend hours exploring the gardens and woodland trails around the lake and folly.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are within easy driving range of the many attractions Donegal has to offer. The historical attractions include the famous Grianan of Aileach, Doe Castle and Glenveagh Castle where you can also enjoy beautiful walks through the wooded area and lakeside walks. There are many wonderful beaches to explore, many of which have blue flag status. The scenery in the county is spectacular , including beautiful Inisowen , the magnificent cliffs of Slieve League and Bloody Foreland , and the gorgeous Assaranca waterfall near Ardara. People who love to hike or ramble will be spoiled for choice. The imposing mountains in the county include Mount Errigal and Muckish mountain and the beautiful Glengesh Pass leading to the south west of the county is stunning .
There are so many gorgeous places to visit, all of our previous exchangers have been very impressed.
If you somehow manage to get your fill of Donegal, we also live within easy access of the many attractions in Northern Ireland, including Derry , City of Culture, 2013, The UNESCO
listed Giants Causeway, The Marble Arch Caves and the lakelands of Enniskillen.
