We are a family of four with two kids aged 15 and 12. My husband Ian is a retired documentary film maker and I work in the Life Sciences Industry. We are quite an active family with sport playing a large part in our weekends with rowing, swimming and hockey for the kids. We are also lucky to live in a beautiful area where we can also enjoy a range of water based activities such as surfing, wild swimming as well as the local mountain bike track. Ian has been known to play the odd round of golf on one of the many courses here, and occasionally throw a line into our river in the hopes of getting a bite.
We also love the opportunity to enjoy great food and wine with our friends!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
*we are now fully booked for August 2023*
Nestled in the greenery of the Northern Irish countryside, only 30 minutes from the coast for water sports and some of Ireland's finest golf courses, and within 45 minutes of the cities of Belfast and Derry/Londonderry, .our home offers an oasis of peace and comfort from which to explore Ireland.
Sitting on 1.7 acres of landscaped gardens, featuring the Aghadowey River, our home is 3650sqft in a peaceful rural setting
Environmentally sustainable ground sourced underfloor heating
Spacious modern and comfortable.
Has an open fire and a wood burning stove.
Large foodies kitchen with everything needed for some serious cooking.
Four bedrooms, three en suite
Courtyard with wood-store and twin garage.
Gym and kids den.
The kids area has a tv, PS5, xbox and nintendo switch.
There is a south facing decking area for entertaining, with garden couches, chairs, tables etc.
We also have seating by the river, and often set up our smoker/ bbq/pizza oven/firepit by the river for the evening. This is our favourite spot for a glass of wine as the sun goes down.
The river is known for it's fishing with trout and salmon running, and this in turn attracts the regular visitors of Herons, Kingfishers, Short Eared Owls, Mallard Ducks and Otters to our section of the river.
There is a large lawned area to the front of the property with a selection of mature trees and hedging and river views with plenty of room for children to run around and play. Our kids tend to have a trampoline out, along with volley ball net, netball hoop, swingball etc, so plenty for kids if needed.
The closest town is Garvagh, 4 miles away. It offers local shops, supermarket, bars, petrol stations etc.
