We live beside a famous long beach called Brittas Bay in County Wicklow. Dublin Airport is 1 hour drive. There is a train station in Wicklow town (10-15 minute drive) with trains to Dublin every day (1 hour train journey). Wicklow town is well serviced by bus. Dublin City south is 35 minutes by car. Brittas Bay beach is a 3.5km walk/cycle. from the house. The beach is 5km in length and has an EU blue flag. Magheramore beach is 5 mins drive 15 minute cycle. Wicklow town is 10 minutes car drive or 9 km cycle. Glendalough 20 mins drive
(www.glendalough.ie.) Avondale Forest Park https://www.beyondthetreesavondale.com/ is a 20 minute drive. You would need a car as this is a rural setting.
This house was fully renovated in 2011 and is highly insulated . It is an original old forge built in the 1600s with original stonework and many historic features. The water supply comes from a natural Spring mountain well on the land. It is surrounded by our own private fields full of wildlife with country and sea views. The grounds are all enclosed and have electric gates. It is very safe and private. Lots of coastal hikes and mountain hikes. visitwicklow.ie
We have five bedrooms two with king size beds, and en suite wet rooms, one with a double and two with single beds. We have an outdoor hot shower useful when returning from the beach. We have a main bathroom which has a Jacuzzi bath. Outside there are bicycles and sun chairs, hammock and fire pit. There is a patio, barbecue and dining area. We produce our own honey from our hives which you are welcome to. Our horse and donkeys' need no care, just the odd carrot or slice of bread. Our cats are fed daily and live outdoors but do wander inside from time to time. If you are away overnight you can use the timed feeder. Our schnauzer dog Maisy (14) is most friendly, excellent with children, clean and lives indoors. She will happily go along with you for walks and travel with you to hikes/parks/beach. She will also be happy to sleep and stay home alone!
All offers welcome!
We are especially interested in all European cities and all parts of the world.
