Hi from the Netherlands
Mid July, this year we, we (Kane & Elma), will be pensioners and hoping to travel. We have a strong bond with Australia. It was in the 70-ties I (Elma) traveled around Australia for the first time. Later, several times we've visited down under. The last time Kane and I visited Australia was 2 years ago. My sister lives for over 30 years in South Australia and last but not least our daughter is studying and working in Sydney.
We'll hope that you enjoy our house as a home away from home as we would yours.
Profile

Each of the towns around Zwolle were spectacular in their differences. Connections to everywhere by car and train are excellent, although the train fares were a little high. Elma and Kane's home is an easy walk into town and the station, and bike paths are at the door. We had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Thank you both for sharing your comfortable and warm home with us.

Read More...From the moment we started communication we seemed to really 'click' and the whole exchange was close to perfect. The house is much larger than we expected thanks to being 3 levels, and very tastefully decorated and designed with all the amenities including a nice small garden ! The stairs were steep, so we left our big heavy cases downstairs - all a part of visiting lovely Holland but certainly not for really aging couples (we are in our mid seventies) ! We exchanged cars also and again ours was left in an immaculate condition and their Hyundai was so easy to drive and with low kilometers /relatively cheap to run. Wonderful Home 'Exchangers' !!!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our house is situated in a friendly neighbourhood in Zwolle, which is only 1 hour drive away from Amsterdam (by car or train).
The national park and the main river “IJssel” is by a matter of speaking around the corner. Especially during early evening it is nice walking or cycling along the dike.
The house has: 2 spacy bedrooms, 1 with a balcony; 1 study; 1 room we call mr. Kane’s room; 1 bathroom; 2 toilets; 1 separate kitchen; 1 garage; 1 backgarden; 1 small frontgarden; 1 garage.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Zwolle town centre is about 10 minutes walk from our home. The railway station is about 5 minutes walk (1.5 km) from our home.
Zwolle is located next to the highway A28, the North-South route. This road is also important for East-West traffic, for example from Zwolle to Amsterdam.
Going to Amsterdam takes 1 hour by car. By train the same, also1 hour.
The national park and the main river “IJssel” is by a matter of speaking around the corner. Especially during early evening it is nice walking or cycling along the dike.
Zwolle is a historical town although before the middle ages, regarding the origin of Zwolle little is known. In the middle ages a settlement had formed along the river Aa, in written sources dated since 1040 information about a famous Parish Church, dedicated to Saint Michael, was found.
In the year 1230 to the residents of that settlement city rights have been granted.
