We are a couple married over fifty years. We are Ad en Els Bouw and we have three children 0f 50, 47 and 44 years old. Our three children are living in their own house. We have two lovely granddaughters of 21 and 17 years, We do like working in our garden and to cultivate our own vegetables in our garden. We eat every day fresh food which is important for us. We make our own bread, jams and fruits which we save in our cellar. We are real people of the country side. We like to do work as volonteers. Ad was before a teacher in the Dutch languge and he was also tourguide in Italy for several years. Els worked for years in rhe hospital in very different jobs, For years she worked as a mediator for complaints. We both like sports as tennis, walking in the mountains, cycling. We try to keep fit ourselves.

It's set in one of the most beautiful parts of the Netherlands, very rural with views over the surrounding fields, and many birds and other wildlife (including a huge hare) just outside front door. Our lovely hosts Ad and Els left us with so many brochures that even though we knew the area, we found so many new cultural things, like the Mondrian Villa in Winterswijk, MORE (modern realism museum) and the beautifully restored Landfort. We fed the chickens (and loved their eggs), and fell in love with Karel the tom-cat, a most adorable cat to look after. Ad and Els were lovely to deal with, and left us some beautiful things to taste. Would love to exchange again some time in the future!
