We are a young couple in our late 20's fresh out of university. Although we have not yet exchanged homes before as a couple, Ewout has grown up always exchanging homes during the holidays.
We also have a very lovely cat, Assepoes, she is very old (19) but also very sweet and loves to cuddle. She is a calm, mostly indoor cat but she does need to be fed daily and requires medicine twice a day. We are a bit hesitant to home swap at the moment due to her old age, but if you are a cat person, contact us, we are open to talk about it!
We have family living nearby, so if there is anything, you can always contact them.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is located in the historic city center of Leiden. Leiden is an old and picturesque town where Rembrandt van Rijn 100 meters from our home was born. You can stroll through 800 years of visible history. The 'city of discoveries' is home to the oldest university in the Netherlands. The city is also well-known for its rich history and old city centre, with its canals with terraces floating in them, city gates, bridges, windmills, a castle, an observatory, the Hortus botanical gardens, weaver houses, the courtyard homes, two large Late Gothic churches and various historical buildings. Our house is practically in the backyard of the Japanese museum Siebold House. Various other museums such as European museum of the Year 2019 Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, the national museum of natural history Naturalis and the national archeological museum Rijksmuseum van Oudheden are within walking distance.
You can walk to the train station in 10 minutes, where you can take a train to The Hague, Amsterdam (and Schiphol Airport), Haarlem or Utrecht. At the station you can also find bus services to the beach, the Keukenhof and the flower field area (bollenstreek).
There are also a lot of great restaurants in close by, some examples are Tabu (Latin food), Everest Tandori (Nepalese/Indian), La Cubanita (Tapas), North End Pub, Djebena (East Afrikan food), Surakarta (Indonesian), Rembrant BBQ, Het Pakhuis and also a great take away Pizza place, Picollino, across the street.
