Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Looking for Easter and summer swaps for 2024! Always interested in long weekends in Germany / Austria.
We moved in 2018 from the UK to Germany and bought this lovely property in Baden Württemberg / Hohenlohe. Our family house is now fully renovated to provide modern and spacey living accommodation.
For us it was important to have spaces to relax and connect the inside / outside areas. We recently added a beautiful decking area and a new terrace.
The house is very private and in a quiet location. It is surrounded by a hedge / fence.
Please note - when the pictures were taken, we were still waiting for the garden to be newly landscaped. By the time you will visit our house, there should be a newly laid lawn with shrubs, trees and plants.

1. On the ground floor you will find
- a large, sociable family kitchen including a kitchen counter with barstools and cosy kitchen sofa gives direct access to decking area for sunny morning coffees
- diner / lounge area with access to a roofed terrace
- lodge - this is our cosy TV room incl. SONOS surround system (Netflix and Prime, DVD Player...)
- office / guest room with double sofa bed
- bathroom incl. toilet with a large bath tub and shower
- extra WC
SONOS system in kitchen / lounge / lodge

2. first floor
- huge master bedroom
- 1 bedroom with double bed
- 1 bedroom with single bed
- bathroom with large walk in shower / toilet

3. lower floor
- large gaming room with sofa bed with PS4 / large TV plus a single bed

- utility room with washing machine / dryer

- heating room (pellet system)

Garden:
Please note - when the pictures were taken, we were still waiting for the garden to be newly landscaped. By the time you will visit our house, there will be a newly laid lawn, new trees and plants.
We have a large Gas BBQ, Fire pit, sun loungers, a hammock and lots of sitting areas for outside relaxing entertaining.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

very quiet residential in a small vibrant town. Very friendly neighbours. Directly next door you can find a small playground and also a sport pitch with a running track. Bakery and shop, supermarket are 5 minutes walk.
There are a few pubs / restaurants in the town. 2 bakeries, 2 supermarkets, a cafe and a butcher. Rail transport is available from the local train station but for more flexibility we recommend a car. (we are open to car swapping, contact us if interested)
Local walking / cycling routes in the lovely countryside are a few metres away from the house

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

Our house is a great base for various trips and activities in Southern Germany. You will not get bored here
If you up for some lovely unspoilt countryside in the idyllic Hohenloher Ebene, you will not be disappointed. Wooded hills, unspoilts river valleys, vinyards, romantic brooks, small lakes etc. are characteristic for this area. There are also various castles, palaces and monastries to visit as well as some great towns / cities (Rothenburg odT., Dinkelsbühl, Schwäbisch Hall, Heidelberg (1,5 hours) ...

Nearby cities are Schwäbisch Hall, Crailsheim and not to forget closeby Franken with the famous Rothenburg o.d. Tauber - the medieval highlight for all tourists. These towns are all 20 - 30 minutes away.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

We are looking for long weekends (open to suggested dates), a week around Easter and in June (school holidays) and a 2 - 3 week stay during the school holidays in August / September 2023.
Open to Car swap if air travel is involved.
We love cities, countryside, seaside and mountains... :-) Currently open minded to all offers.

Naturally ,we will treat your house with respect and will leave it clean and in a good state. We are interested in exploring new areas of Europe and Germany for long weekends, a summer holiday or a week stay during one of the other holidays.
For us it is important that you feel at home in our house, so please let us know if you need anything or if something gone wrong etc. Communication is key.
We are very happy to answer all your questions and concerns.
As our kids are teenagers, we do not have much equipment / toys for small children around anymore - but feel free to ask us, if you need something. We might be able to organise what you cannot bring with you.
We are open minded to hosting small, well behaved dogs. However, please do not leave your pet unattended at home (no scratching the doors etc.)
Please note if you have allergies - we have a dog and a cat. The dog will either travel with us or stay with family. The cat can stay if you like to look after a pet during your stay (very independent with cat flap, only needs feeding, very much outdoors) or can also stay with family.
Please leave the house in a good state :-) If anything breaks, please let us know. Things happen. We have a liability insurance, should we damage anything in your home by accident.
Smoking allowed outside, not in the house. Please be respectable to the neighbours (noise)
Please no BBQ on the terrace / decking (leave it in the garden, because of grease stains)
