Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
It is a big house on 2 floors. Our "flat" is on the 1st floor with a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and dining room, the master-bedroom with a cot, the master-bathroom and two children's room. From the master bedroom and the living room you can go out in the garden and have breakfast in the sun on our terrace. We have got a cellar with a separate door (entrance), 2 bedrooms (with play pen), a bathroom and sauna. We have a big garden with a trampoline and a sandbox behind the house and a "relaxing" area in front of the house.

Neighbourhood
Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a quiet and nice neighbourhood however not far from the highway (5min drive). Our neighbours are also very helpful if there are any questions. A forest is just 2 minutes away. If you walk through you can easily reach one of the playgrounds which are nearby(max 10 min walk). The second and bigger playground (10 min walk) is in the other direction where you pass the bakery and the butcher in our residential area. You can also use our bikes to get into town where we often have an ice-cream at "Carlo's".
It is about 30 min to Nuremberg and Erlangen, 40 min to Bamberg, 45-60 min to Würzburg and 2 hours to Munich by car. However it is also possible to take the train from Erlangen or maybe Bamberg. By train you can reach Munich in 1 1/2 hour, Franfurt/Main in 2 hours, Leipzig in 3 hours, Berlin in about 4 hours. In Nuremberg there is also an airport from where you can reach many cities in and out of Germany.
Also the czech republic is not that far away... There are companies in Germany where you can get very easily and cheap to many destinations in and out of Germany (Flixbus).
70 km away (by car) there is an artificial lake called Brombachsee where you can kite and sail. In Höchstadt and surroundings there are many (outdoor) swimming pools. If you like walking/hiking or even climbing it is very easy to do those things in the "Fränkische Schweiz" however we live rural and you can hike even near by where there are many artificial lakes called "Weiher" where many restaurants around get their carps.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
First you are on holidays and it is perfect to relax here;-) Sport activities are possible as well.

The best restaurants with traditional food you can found on www. fraenkisch-gut-geniessen.de however there are also very good restaurants in Höchstadt with traditional and "foreign" food. We love Italian, Indian and Turkish dish and there are many restaurants in Höchstadt and surroundings where you can get it.
In Erlangen, Bamberg and Nuremberg are theatres, cinemas and also an opera house. We weekly get an advertisment with current cultural events...or we use the internet;-)
When the wheater is not that good there is a boulderhall in Dechsendorf, indoor playgrounds...

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Clean home, no smoking, quietness...as good as possible (we have two small kids;-) However they have to behave well, and are not allowed to damage anything... in our as well as in your home. We will take care of your home and hope you will do so too.
We like holidays at the sea and beach.
I am (Carolyn) and a General Practitioner. Torsten works as an engineer. Hanna goes to school (7years) and Tom is in the kindergarten (4 years). Since summer 2022 we have a fifth member in our family: a cat. I will renew the fotos of our home and family... (new sofa and fireplace in the living room, renovation of the children's rooms and one guest room with new beds ...)
We are open for any other suggestions even for shorter trips (1-2 weeks) and short non-simultaneous swaps maybe are also possible! Please do not hesitate to contact us.
