Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

We live in a quiet, small village with about 1400 inhabitants. We are surrounded by fields and forests and we are in the heart of a natural park.
We have quite a large garden, parts of it with vegetables and berries as well as a greenhouse, a little hut for kids, a trampoline, a sandbox and a „Tarzan railway“ (I´m not sure if that´s the word in English for it?). There are also two playgrounds about 200m away.
We also have 4 hens, a cat, and 3 fancy rats (they are in a large cage in an extra room :-)). Our house dates from 1870, and we completely renovated it before moving in in 2014. We have two kids bedrooms (our kids are 7 and 10), 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 bedroom for guests. The house has three bedrooms, a large kitchen with adjoining living room, one bathroom and two more lavatories. Please be aware that we do not have a TV, but we have WiFi and a Beamer and could arrange to leave a laptop for you so that you can watch what you like.
We have a lot of board games and card games, as well as a table football for kids, bikes, and a pedal car.
We have a large tiled stove (but central heating as well) as well as solar panels, so we are nearly energy self-sufficient. We also have a gas stove (but an electric oven).
If you like to spend a night or two in the forest, you can use our trailer, which we renovated to make it nice and cosy. It has a bunk bed, a woodstove and a small table in it and is located at the edge of the forest, about 5 minutes by foot from our house. You can also use one of our tents, if you are more than 4 people wanting to sleep there.
Our village is about 25km from Augsburg, which is an quite attractive town, it is over 2000 years old and famous for the "Fugger", who built the first social estate in the world (can be visited) and the "Puppenkiste" (which means puppets on strings). It has a very beautiful old town, some very good museums and restaurants and a large zoo with adjoining botanical gardens.
Munich is about 70km, Nuremberg about 140km and Stuttgart about 160km. The Alpes are about 130km away, so it´s possible to go there for a day trip. The famous „Legoland“ in Günzburg is about half an hour drive away.
