My name is Juliette, I live and work in Paris (in a consultancy) and I have family in New-York where I am looking for an exchange in August 2022.
I am passionate about reading, travelling and I am particularly drawn to the ocean, after spending many holidays in the Basque Country.
I am looking forward to discovering new people and new cultures thanks to Homelink !

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
My apartment consists of a living room with an integrated American kitchen and a large bedroom, both very bright and overlooking courtyard. It was redone a few years ago. It is really very cozy and comfortable, ideal for a couple, can also accommodate two more people on the sofa bed present in the living room. The bed is a queen size bed and the bedroom has a large dressing room. The bathroom has a (small) bath.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
I live in the 12th "arrondissement", in the district of Place d'Aligre, a real small village in the city, with its square, its famous market and its small restaurants in the pedestrian streets around. This is the neighborhood I grew up in, and I’m very fond of it.
From the apartment you will have access to a very wide choice of shops (Franprix, open air market every day except Mondays and covered market on the Place d'Aligre, Biocoop, Naturalia, Monoprix, small grocery stores, fish shops, butchers, cheese shops and excellent bakeries within a 5-minute walk). I would recommend the bakery "Le Blé Sucré", located 5 minutes from the apartment in front of the square Trousseau, whose "pains au chocolat" and madeleines have been voted among the best in Paris!
You will be ten minutes walk from the Bastille and the banks of the Seine, two minutes from the Coulée Verte, five minutes from the Gare de Lyon, and it will be very easy to visit all of Paris from the apartment.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our place, you will be able to visit all the great museums Paris is renowned for (the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay in particular are on metro line 1 which is 5 minutes from the apartment). It is a short walk from many cafés, restaurants and shops around the place d'Aligre and the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The Bastille Opera is 10 minutes away by foot.

We would ask visitors not to smoke inside the apartment and to leave it neat and tidy when we get back, just as we would do for others :)
