Description of the home we are offering for exchange
6 bedrooms apartment in a 1830 Parisian building.
We’re both University Professors. We know very well the United States and we've spent one year in Santa Monica for a sabbatical at UCLA.
We already organized two exchanges with Los Angeles and San Francisco before we had kids (now we have two kids, 17 and 21).
The apartment, located in a typical Parisian building built in 1830, on the 2nd floor (there is a lift) is 156m2 (1600 square feet) with 6 rooms : a huge kitchen, a living room connected to another room (our office) by a sliding door, a master bedroom with queen-size bed, two other bedrooms (these two bedrooms overlook the courtyard), two bathrooms and two toilets (one separated). The apartment has been completely renewed 6 years ago. The kitchen is the room we prefer, it’s very French. We have a housekeeper who could be called if needed. We have a cat and lot of plants. If taking care of the cat is a problem for any reason, we have always other possibilities to give him to someone the time of the exchange. We don’t have a television but a huge screen home cinema with a rich collection of DVDs.
The area : the apartment is located between les “Grands boulevards” et “Montmartre” (both walking distance ), very lively during the day (a lot of offices) and very calm during the night. We have a very good public transportation (many buses and subways) and a lot of restaurants and food shops all around.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Central Paris, between the Grands Boulevards and Montmartre. It used to be a rather popular neighbourhood, but was gentrified some 15 years ago. Many restaurants and shops of all kinds within walking distance. Rather busy during the day and very quiet at night - and very safe. The apartment is 2 mns walk from the metro station.

It's important for us to find our plants in good shape and the apartment as clean and in order as it was before the exchange.
