Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Kids-friendly neighbourhood, very lively and "parisian-like", with many restaurants, cafés and bistrots. It was home for many artists from La Belle Epoque and later, and you can find many "ateliers d'artists" to visit around here (Giacometti institute, Chana Orloff's workshop and house, etc.) or around Montparnasse, which is 15 minutes' walk from here. Agnès Varda, one of the most recognised french film directors, used to work and live in this neighbourhood (in the nearby rue Daguerre), and a mural was lately inaugurated on the wall of the school that's just across the street. The area is also quiet green, with the Cité Universitaire or the Parc Montsouris, one of the biggest parks in Paris. (and very nice - and very expensive - houses to have a look at around)

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Many good restaurants, cafés and bistrots, and if you like food, the place is heaven : very good butchers (the one juste close to our building is a contractor for the French government and parlement, and the greatest restaurants in Paris, yet quite expensive), fisheries, cheeses, pastry, wine shops, and of course boulangeries( bread).
There are also a lot of cultural hotspots : the Musée de la resistance, the Entrepôt (cultural place and cinema), artists' workshops from La belle époque etc within walking distance, in addition to any thing you can find in Paris.
