Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in Ireland and this is our holiday home.
Compact 3 Bed Holiday Home in South of France 20k from the charming city of Perpignan, 40nminutes drive from Spanish border. House is located in a gated residence with parking space and access to a communal swimming pool (open mid June-mid September). House is beside lake and within a 5 minute drive of Barcares village and miles of sandy beaches. Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area and one bedroom. Upstairs there are two bedroom and bathroom with shower and bath. Off one bedroom there is a small balcony. There is a patio area at the rear with BBQ and
garden furniture. We also have a travel cot.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The house is located in the lakeside Coudalere district approximately 5 minutes drive from the centre of Barcares. It is located in a small residence with a shared swimming pool (mid June to mid September). There is a bakery and restaurants (open April to end September) within a few minutes walk. A larger selection of restaurants/bars, small supermarket, newsagent, and internet cafe are within a 10 minute walk. The main village and beaches are a 5 minute drive away. Village is a typical French village with a lively market held 3 days a week. It has a good selection of restaurants and some shops. There are a number of supermarkets located within a 10 minute drive. The city of Perpignan is 20 km away and it is a 40 minute drive to the Spanish border.
Ideal location for a relaxing holiday and a good base for touring the Languedoc Roussillon region and Spanish Costa Brava.
Barcelona, Girona, Figueres (Dali museum), Narbonne, Carcassone, Montpelier and Toulouse all within 1-2 hours drive

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
There is a lovely sandy beach that runs for several miles within a 20 min walk or five min drive from house. There are several bike/walking trails nearby. Barcares village has a lively market and during the summer months there is entertainment most evening i.e. concert or night market. Various water sports are available nearby. The surrounding area contains spectacular countryside and many charming French
villages, vineyards, mountains and lakes.
