Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Town centre cottage in Historic Rochechouart centre.Walk from the door to all commerces in ancient town centre.3 bakers,3 hotels,4 restaurants and 4 bars await your custom. There are 3 banks with ATMs a pharmacy and lots of interesting antique shops. On the outskirts(car needed) are 2 large supermarkets.
Our little house looks tiny from the street but is deceptively deep. There is a spacious lounge with telephone and wifi connections plus a dvd player with lots of dvds to watch.A large kitchen /diner,(fully equipped )opens onto a covered terrace with spectacular views over the lake and to the distant hills. The famous Rochechouart chateaux is a neighbour to your right-about 100metres away.Steps lead down to a sundeck with barbeque and dining furniture-a real suntrap.
A steep and narrow staircase from the lounge leads to the 1st floor landing and bedroom. The bedroom has an antique french bed complete with vintage french linen bedsheets. There is a brand new shower room and toilet ensuite.Another steep staircase leads to the 2nd floor landing(fabulous views)with another period bedroom and shower ensuite. The house is believed to be 500 years old.It has strange bulging walls and quirky features. We have renovated the house completely-everything is modern efficiency and comfort but retaining period charm. The street outside is very quiet and very little traffic passes by.Parking is available about 50 metres away in the chateaux car park
