Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

160sq.m on 2 floors w/ 400sq.m enclosed garden, on a quiet street in south-east Lyon.

On the main floor there is the guest room, that looks out onto the garden, with its own private bathroom. The kitchen includes a small table for snacks, a steam oven and induction cooktop. In the den there is a piano and Ottokar, who welcomes you every time you come in. The living room is spacious and good for reading or watching movies on the big screen. We eat year-round in our veranda with its indoor garden.

Above the garage is the master bedroom with its own private bathroom and walk-in closet.

On the top floor are three bedrooms, and a tiny library corner for spending many a lazy afternoon.

For baby equipment, all we have is a baby bed. :-)

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

We live across the street from a school playground, which is closed to the public and very quiet out of season. Croissants are a few minutes up the street, we prefer the tasty bread that is a short bike ride away, grocery stores for quick pickups are nearby, and about a 20-minute walk away there is a street with more extensive shopping as well as a family restaurant that serves good food for all ages.

There is a little park two streets over, and a bit further away a much bigger park with a huge wooden structure for kids 6 years and up to climb and hide in, as well as room to kick or throw a ball around.

We are 7min away on foot from three tram lines, one that goes to Lyon centre, one that goes to the very southern tip of the centre, and one that goes to the Part-Dieu train station (which has a connection out to the airport).

Across the street where two of the trams intersect is one of the city's biggest markets, on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, selling everything from tools and clothes to fresh produce and meat for the barbecue.
