Family Boone house is an ancient, charming house in town centre and not far from the train station. Poitiers is a very nice town, and we loved a lot our exchange, the house and the town. It is easily to travel around in many beautiful places. And we loved a lot the two very nice cats, Hermione and Farinelli. Thanks from Gian Carlo, Lidia and friends

We had a great time in Poitiers! Bringing four children on holiday, can be a difficult task...in Poitiers and the region around Poitou-Charentes, however, there were plenty of things to do for children of all ages, and we explored a lot. From the science park "Le Futuruscope", the monkey park"La vallee des Singes", to the very beautiful lake "Lac the St.Cyr". We also drove to the coast, and visited Royan and La Rochelle - the latter a very beautiful town with great "moules frites". Of course, the Loire valley with it`s amazing nature, spectacular castles and very cosy towns, like Amboise and Blois were also a favourite. It was very nice to walk around the old town of Poitiers, and the house was conveniently situated in the heart of the town. Several streets were made pedestrian streets, with small shops, cafes and restaurants. The French cuisine is amongst our favourites, and it was a pleasure to visit the local restaurants. We have great memories from this exchange, and thank you Eric and Severine with family for hospitality and friendliness. Best regards from Aina and Geir with family

We have never been in this area of france before - but we felt definitely in love with Portiers. A wonderful medieval city in south-west France. There are so many places to visit, so many activities to participate in a real beautiful region. We have been strolling around with our 2 girls (age 10 & 12 years) - and we all felt comfortable, because there were enough things to discover for every age. Another very important reason for this succesful trip were our hosts: Eric & Severine Boone. They really tried to arrange everything for our convenience. Their house in Portiers is wonderful and just at the beginning of the medieval city center. During the whole swap, they gave us the feeling of being welcome - just as it has to be among good Homelinkers! We would do an exchange anytime again! Everything was perfect and we have to thank you for an unforgettable time in your remarkable house, city and country. From the beginning, getting in touch, talking about different possibilities, getting ready for the trip, until the end, finding a clean and shiny house back home, everything was easy and without complication. We really like the wonderful picture of you, sitting in our garden, obviously enjoying your time at Vienna. We appreciated your effort to leave us with as much information about what to do around Poitiers as possible.
