Read More...John and Marg's home, the boat house, is unique and classic. It is right on the lake with jetty and kayaks which are easy to launch. 2 mins and you are off paddling on Lake Macquarie in any direction, great exercise. Their home is upstairs kitchen, dining, study, deck and lounge and downstairs to the bedroom, bathroom, lounge and jetty. The upstairs deck is a cracker where I spent a lot of my time, reading, watching the boating and bird activity. Pelicans, gulls and cockies at different times of the day. Swim off the jetty. Day trips a plenty to the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and beaches, Norah Head and Lake Macquarie walks and Art Gallery. Thriving Toronto is a 10min drive for everything you need. Take the train to Sydney and view the Hawksbury and National Parks. John and Marg are delightful people, communication was easy and their home is in a very quiet area and we had 8 nights undisturbed sleep. Highly recommended.
