Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

All Covid restrictions have been lifted in Denmark as of 1. February 2022

Frederiksberg is one of the most popular areas in Copenhagen. You find many shops, cafés, bars and restaurants within walking distance of the flat. Even the centre of Copenhagen is easy accessible by foot. Alternatively take the metro which is 600 meters away. You got 5 grocers within 500 meters and I strongly recommend you visit our local baker at the corner: “Krumme & Co”. Afterwards you can work out in the Gym across the street. One of the largest parks in the Capital The Frederiksberg Gardens is near by and so is Carlsberg Breweries and the Zoo with the Elephant House by Norman Foster.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

At the end of the street you find the square of the painter Kristian Zahrtmann. The parallel street Godthåbsvej is a little piece of Paris in the middle of the Danish Capital. Nearby you will find the Zoo, one of the biggest parks in the city Frederiksberg Gardens and The local mall Frederiksberg Centret. In the city of Copenhagen you find Tivoli, Nyhavn, Carlsberg Breweries and Rosenborg Castle all only a few metro stops away. Easy accessible by train is Roskilde with it’s Cathedral and Viking Center and the internationally renowned art museum Louisiana. Sweden is only 30 minutes away by train.

The food chains Madklubben and Cofoco both have branches in Frederiksberg and the local restaurant Radio is in the Michelin Guide.

During summer we have bright nights with the sun setting around 22 o’clock. Copenhagen is a bicycle wonderland - it’s flat and there are many bicycle lanes. You can swim in the harbour or at one of the many beaches nearby. Mean temperature during summer is16-20 degrees, mean water temperature is 18 degrees.
