We are English college/university instructors who love to travel. We have two adult children who may join us on some exchanges, but, usually, we would be just two adults. Because we teach, the house is usually available only from May-August, though we plan to retire fairly soon; at that time, we'll be able to offer more flexible dates. For now, we can offer simultaneous, non-simultaneous and hosted exchanges, depending on our travel schedule.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We are looking for exchanges for May-July 2022 in Central Europe. We would like to find a few exchanges of 1-2 weeks each in the following cities: Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Prague, and Budapest.
Located in a quiet corner of one of Vancouver's favourite neighbourhoods close to downtown, our home with its south-exposure and west-facing skylights provides a bright and airy atmosphere in an "Arts and Crafts" character home. The master bedroom (the entire top floor) features its own ensuite bathroom and two desks with a peek-a-boo view over to the North Shore Mountains; one main-floor bedroom has another queen bed and the other has a single day bed with pull-out trundle. The main-floor bathroom has a spa jacuzzi tub to relax in after a day of walking, cycling and exploring Vancouver.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Enjoy these features of our corner of Kitsilano:
Walk 10 minutes to Jericho Beach that links to Locarno and Spanish Banks beaches - easily an hour and a half walk with breathtaking scenery. (see our sunset photo taken from the farthest point of West Spanish Banks). Famous Kitsilano beach is about a 1/2 hour walk.
Cycle 5 minutes to join the cycling paths that will take you around False Creek past Kitsilano Beach, Granville Island, the Olympic Village and Science World as well as around English Bay and Stanley Park to Coal Harbour.
Ride the bus 5 minutes 10 minutes to Pacific Spirit Park and UBC or 20 minutes to downtown and connect easily with Vancouver's Sky Train system: a bus stop serving 4 bus routes is just a few minutes walk from our home.
Stroll along the western end of Broadway (only a two-minute walk away) with its shops, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Some of Vancouver's best restaurants are within walking distance: Tandoori Fusion (Indian), Banana Leaf (Malaysian), La Quercia (Italian), Green Leaf (Sushi), Nat's NY Pizza, and the Kitsilano landmark, The Nam (vegetarian). Don't leave without trying Vancouver's (if not the world's) best gooey cinnamon buns, shipped to other restaurants around Vancouver, but made on site at Grounds for Coffee just a few minutes walk from our home.
Relax on our back deck in our well-treed, secluded back garden or catch some rays on our sunny front porch.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We appreciate a tidy and clean house upon return. Watering house plants and possibly front garden beds if it's hot and dry in the summer would be appreciated. Garbage sorting (compost, recycle, trash) and placing these items in the back alley for collection is required . We will provide a schedule.
Our 30-year-old daughter, who will be living in our basement suite starting Fall 2021, could greet you upon your arrivel. She has a small white West Highland Terrier who is generally quiet and goes to Doggy Daycare when we're away and she's working.
