I am a retired teacher and my husband Blair is a CTO of an American Company. White Rock is a seaside community and our home is in walking distance to several restaurants , a grocery store, clothing stores, a pub, a library and several walking trails to the beach. Our home has a hot tub and swim spa. We are very active and enjoy the outdoors: Pickleball, hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There is rapid transit two blocks down the street to Vancouver and the YVR airport.
We prefer to travel to Europe and stay in a city , but will consider a village close to transportation within 30 minutes of metropolis. I'm very interested in music and play the guitar so evening pubs within walking distance with live performances are a bonus!!

Beautiful , Modern Home with Great Room, 2 blocks from Ocean Park Village Pub, Grocery Store, Butchers , Bakery, Coffee and Clothing Shops and Starbucks. 10 minute walk to beach trail at 1001 steps or 40 minute walk to White Rock or Crescent Beach with more restaurants and shops. Two blocks from the 351 bus into Vancouver under an hour, and 20 minutes from the USA border and a few hours to Seattle , Washington.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is residential with many bike paths leading to very large parks in all directions. Crescent Park towards Crescent Beach has a duck pond, many bike and walking trails, a picnic area and tennis and pickleball courts. Towards White Rock centre to the east there is Semiahmoo Park with more bike trails that lead to a community swimming pool , a community centre , soccer fields , more pickleball courts and a children's water park and skating rink. South ,a few blocks from our home is access to a rugged beach trail with a look out over the Pacific Ocean. If you head South there is another Ocean Look Out at Camp Kwomais also with wooded trails, a meadow and an indigenous meditation circle.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
White Rock Beach , 3.5 km, to the east of us has a beautiful pier and promenade along the entire length of the beach. Many shops and restaurants are along the other side. Crescent Beach , 3 km northwest to our location, is often a beach where the locals gather. There is a wonderful walk through the community garden and along the fen where the herons hang out. In the summer you can rent paddle boards or kayaks on Crescent beach and paddle up the Nicomekl river. Both beaches have their unique attractions, but they both are very popular for the fish and chips and ice cream.

Our Preferences
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would like our home to be treated as if it was our guests own. We would also like it left the way it was when they arrived. We have house cleaners that come every second week and if you want to use them to clean the house before you leave that can be arranged. The cost is $150.00 . However, they do the deep cleaning and we do the tidying. We also have a swim spa and a hot tub which requires some maintenance, but otherwise we have gardeners as well , but may need some outdoor flower and vegetable pots to be watered.
