Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our Acreage is located 20 minutes driving north of the town of Sundre Alberta. We live out in the country surrounded by farmland and wilderness. All our neighbours are super friendly and helpful. The yard itself is a beautiful park like setting with a big swimming pond, ample lawn to run and play or relax. We have a wonderful treed area complete with a fire-pit in the back and a huge farmers garden and fruit and berry trees. We also have a 5th wheel trailer parked in the yard and a jeep with a rooftop tent that could be negotiated if you would like to use them to explore even more into the Canadian wilderness. We also have 2 whitewater kayaks, a canoe, and gear that you could use to enjoy the James River and Red Deer River that are very close by (less than a 5 min drive).

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The Canadian Rockies are a short drive to the west from our house. There are many wonderful hiking trails and glacier fed lakes to explore. The Canadian Rockies are abundant with wildlife like big horn sheep, moose, elk, deer, fox, etc... We are also close to a small town in Alberta that hosts an annual Rodeo, has 2 wonderful golf courses, many shops and restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacy, liquor stores, indoor swimming pool and walking trails.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Please leave our place at the end of your stay the way it was upon arrival, neat and tidy. We are on a well and have a septic system as we live on an acreage. Our water table is very high so you will not have to conserve water as there is no chance of running out, however please dispose of all feminine hygiene products in the garbage as they can clog the septic system. We also have a wood burning stove in the living room. You are welcome to use it with the wood provided. If you run out there is more in the woodshed out back. The main heating system is a gas furnace with the controls in the kitchen. Also both bathrooms have infloor heat for those chilly mornings.
