Description of the home we are offering for exchange
This attractive home overlooks beautiful Shuswap Lake with a panoramic view of Shuswap Lake and Salmon Arm. We are close to top downhill skiing [Silver Star, Big White, Sun Peaks] & cross-country skiing [Silver Star, Larch Hills] areas in winter and beaches, boating, cottage wineries and many other scenic attractions in the North Okanagan-Shuswap region. Shuswap Lake is the Houseboat Capital of Canada, and in all four seasons the Shuswap is a visitor's paradise.
In the summer months both Silver Star and Sun Peaks are open to tourists who take advantage of the chairlift rides to the peaks. Each resort boasts a range of yearlong tourist activities.
Golf is very popular in this region with four championship courses less than one hour in driving time. As well there are many nearby hiking trails popularized by the Shuswap Trail Alliance in recent years. Shopping is available in Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops. Airports are Kelowna International[YLW] and Kamloops[YKA]

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in Sunnybrae Properties, a small rural subdivision about 18km west of Salmon Arm, B.C. The subdivision is a short 15 minute drive from Salmon Arm and both the Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops areas are accessible within 1-2 hours.
We are at the top of the Okanagan Valley with literally hundreds of boutique wineries producing VQA quality wines, two within a 10 minute drive and the rest scattered throughout the Okanagan Valley.
The Shuswap Lake area is at our doorstep. It is a top tourist draw in any season but particularly in the summer months. Autumn is equally beautiful with September and October usually two pleasant months with the trees beginning to change colour. Days are usually warm and evenings are cooler.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
There are a number of parks nearby, suitable for hiking, swimming, [in season], or nature gazing. In Salmon Arm are bistros and coffee shops as well as a range of restaurants. In winter we are close to cross country skiing [Larch Hills], downhill skiing [Silver Star and Sun Peaks] and snowshoeing.
We are about 4 hours drive from Banff National Park, so our home is enroute to/from that area. We are 4-5 hours drive on mostly four lane highway to Vancouver.
