Hello. Welcome to beautiful Qualicum Beach! It is a resort town on the East coast of Vancouver Island. I live half a block from the ocean and I have a peek-a-boo view of the water from the upstairs bedroom. You can bicycle, kayak, walk, golf (all year long), and there is a club call PAGOSA you can join for $10.00/year...meet people and go kayaking, golfing, play pickle ball, hiking, etc... with new friends). It stand for the Parksville Golden Oldies Sports Association, and you have to be 55+ years to join. Parksville is another beautiful town only 10-15 minutes away. I am only 2 1/2 hours away from surfing at Long Beach in Tofino, BC. It is absolutely beautiful here, on the West Coast of British Columbia. So many lakes, the ocean, beautiful trees, parks, and flowers.
My townhouse is located beside three restaurants that are excellent! One is right next door and they have a prawn special on Thursday evenings with live music. Wednesdays they have wing night. The other restaurant serves everything is almost across the street, and the third one is a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive, and it is right on the ocean. Friday night music trivia there and Saturday live bands and dancing.
Qualicum Beach is a friendly town...only 8,000 people, and it gets busier during the summer months as people from all over the world want to be here! There are many hiking trails, beaches nearby, rural setting and quaint town where I live. You will love it here. You can go fishing, boating, kayaking, or stroll on the waterfront walkway. If you are a photographer you can take photos of the beautiful bald eagles, heron, deer, and sea otters. So much to see in nature here!
My son and family are in Fredericton, so thus the pull to go there for a while. I will go for 2 of 3 month up to a year...maybe more...all up for negotiation:)
I am a retired teacher/high school counsellor/university prof/educator. I am interested in travelling the world, but my first stop has to be Fredericton, New Brunswick as my son and his family are moving there and I would like to spend time with them. I would be willing to go for 2, 3, 4 months...up to a year if someone wanted to swap homes with me.
There are only 10 townhouses in my complex so it is quiet, no children. My home is more suitable for one or two adults. It has two bedrooms, both with queen sized beds, a deck downstairs, and an enclosed deck upstairs...both very large. It is 1250 square feet, one and a half bathrooms, and it has recently been renovated...new flooring, blind, plumbing, bathtub, sinks, toilets, etc..., freshly painted, and ready to host guests who would take good care of it.
I have a car and I am willing to swap cars, if that works with the person (people) who want to stay here.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
I live in a townhouse complex of only 10 townhouses. It is very quiet here and the neighbours are very nice. If you needed any help or assistance, they would most definitely assist you. I live a 4 minute drive to a small, quaint town. It is beautiful...a resort. In the summer it gets busier because people love it here...the ocean, nature, cycling, boating, etc...
You can walk in rural-like areas near my home or walk into town. Parksville is 10-15 minutes away...another beautiful resort area. Nanaimo is 30 minutes away, and has all the malls, etc... Victoria is 2 hours away. There are planes that leave from Qualicum Beach, Nanaimo, and if you travel 45 minutes north you reach Comox (and Comox airport).
It is relaxing, beautiful, and there are so many places to visit to see lakes, the ocean, trails, and anything in the outdoors your want to experience. Some of the best golfing areas in the world...all year long! Great fishing as well! Sockeye salmon, fresh, is delicious! Come and experience beautiful BC and the west coast.
