Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Our neighbourhood is a tiny pocket of homes tucked away off major streets. We get no through-traffic and it is very quiet and safe. The neighbourhood borders parkland which has a paved and lit path, tennis courts (free), open playgrounds for kids, a community centre, and a public library.

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

There is a 24 hour convenience store at the corner, along with a gas station and yes - a Tim Hortons. This is Canada - there are lots of Tim Hortons! My neighbourhood is called Greenboro because of the extensive parks and green space. There are tennis courts (free), paved and lit paths ideal for cycling, walking, and running. A community centre and public library is just down the street, with soccer fields, wading pool, and children's playground behind it.

South Keys is a shopping centre 2.5 km away, and Billings Bridge and St Laurent Mall are both within 15 minute drives. However the real treat of this area is that the bus on the corner can take you to the downtown core in 30 minutes. Visit the Parliament buildings, browse in the unique stores of the Byward Market, boat or skate along the Rideau Canal, hike or cycle in the Gatineau Hills, visit museums, and the National Art Gallery of Canada - which has the famous Maman sculpture by Louise Bourgeois.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

My home is ideal for a single, a couple, and a couple with 1 child. It's a quiet neighbourhood so no loud parties please! It is very safe to return home late at night.

My house is free of pets and smoke. Weekly housecleaning may be arranged for you. I have friends and family nearby who can provide any help with the house if required.

I'm exploring exchanges with and without my teenage daughter.
