Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and is western-style with wood cladding, it is built on a slope and has two-levels, with deck, and walk-out lower level. It sits in the middle of an acre to the north of the Saanich Peninsula on the eastern side of Vancouver Island, and is located in a rural forested setting a short walk from the shoreline of the Saanich Inlet. The neighbourhood is open-forested, with many walking paths and multiple access points to the shore. The Peninsula is hilly, with residential and rural communities. It is ideal for hiking, cycling, and relaxing. Want more, then visit nearby Victoria or travel by ferry or road to other Island destinations. Want to escape? Then check Victoria airport which is a 10 minutes drive; or the B.C. Ferries terminal to Vancouver, a 15 minutes drive; or the Washington State Ferry to Anacortes from nearby Sidney, a15 minutes drive; or Seattle ferries that leave from Victoria, which is a 30 minutes drive.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We are a community of quiet, respectful, sociable and helpful neighbours, living on one acre or half-acre properties in a forested setting adjacent to the Saanich Inlet. It is a perfect location to spot eagles, blue herons, seals and other wildlife. North Saanich is a rural municipality without a town centre. You will need a car to get around. There are two community shops a short drive away, and the main shopping town, Sidney, is within 15 minutes or 30 minutes cycle. The small towns of Brentwood Bay and Saanichton are 20 minutes drive, and Victoria is 30 minutes drive. Panorama Recreation Centre is 10 minutes drive.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
You can access walking paths from our home, as well as the shoreline of the Saanich Inlet. To go further, you will need transport. The area is ideal for cycling, with many bicycle paths and you can cycle from the north of the Peninsula to Victoria on them. In the summer, there are community Farmers' Markets in the area. Nearby Sidney-by-the-Sea has cafés, bars, grocery stores, and diverse shops and attractions. In the summer, Sidney has a popular street market on Thursday evenings. Butchart Gardens is a 20 minute drive, and has evening concerts throughout July and August. To be immersed in more attractions, visit Victoria and its Inner Harbour.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
It is important to us to find our home neat, tidy and how we left it, when we return from vacation. We do not expect anyone to take advantage of our home, its facilities, its environment, nor to disturb our neighbourhood. We undertake to do the same.
