As retirees, we love to travel, discovering the world, not sitting on beaches. We usually like to do 3 to 4 trips per year. We have driven coast to coast in Canada, have traveled extensively in Britain and Ireland, as well as been to the most southern most city in the world, in South America. We cruised the Baltic in June 2018 and this year did the Grand Tour of Italy. We have 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren.

We were lucky to be in Canada when it celebrated its 150th birthday which gave it something extra. The house was very comfortable and the basement stays wonderfully cool during hot days!

Read More...Dear Jean and Michael: Thank you so much for mentoring us in our first exchange. We enjoyed our visit to wine country. Your log book was packed with useful information and we took advantage of the information you left to get the most out of our stay. The Shaw performance of Alice was excellent, and the commute from your house was an easy drive. The house was very comfortable and welcoming, and a great place to relax after a long day of touring and sightseeing. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our 'Little Piece of Eden' and thank you for leaving everything in order. Happy future house exchanges. Sincerely,, Hanz and Johanne

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is about 50 metres from the shore of Lake Ontario, on a quiet, residential street. We are within walking distance of downtown shopping, and have easy access to the main highway between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Grimsby is the gateway to the Niagara Region, which includes extensive wineries, as well as the well known tourist and historic attractions of Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. . The famous Bruce Trail, which extends for 800 km from Niagara to Georgian Bay is a short walk or drive away. The Waterfront Trail goes by the end of our street on its way from Niagara Falls to the Quebec border and is accessible to bikes as well as walkers.
