Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Located in the Eden Valley in the County of Cumbria, our two bedroom cottage is set over two floors in a compact barn conversion, built in 1781. The Cottage provides a comfortable well equipped space for a couple or family with two children. Easy access to the Lake District and the North Pennines. Off street parking however no garden but a lovely bench for a coffee in the pretty cobbled yard or at the front of the cottage with an unbroken view of rolling hills and farmland. Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Cranesbill is one of three stone cottages in a barn conversion,  located in a small hamlet on a very quiet road leading to the picturesque Village of Morland (1 km away) which has a beautifully converted watermill with a cafe and restaurant, there is a pub and the village has its very own ford.  The surrounding area is home to an abundance of wildlife, public footpaths and working farms. Views are unbroken with no buildings near by, just open rural farm land. Short drive to the market town of Penrith with mainline train links and its very own castle ruins. Excellent selection of pub restaurant near by including the Queens head at Askham and community run pub The Butchers Arms.

Located in the Eden Valley with easy reach of the Lakeland Fells to the west and The North Pennines to the east and Scottish borders beyond. An abundance of spectacular hiking opportunities. Circular walks from the door along public foot and bridle paths around the local area. Ullswater lake is 16 km from the cottage which has sailing, kayaking and open water swimming opportunities. Lowther Castle House and grounds is 8km from the cottage which offers mountain biking, country walks events and a cafe at the House. Outdoor bouldering, fishing, horse riding and shooting opportunities. Abbott Lodge Jersey Ice Cream where you can see the cows being milked and buy the ice cream in their parlour. Easy access to the "as seen on TV" WestMorland services Tebay cafe and shop. Rheged cinema, shops cafe and art gallery, Penrith town and castle. Shap chippy UK F&C award 2020, Jetty Museum cafe Windermere is beautiful drive away. Many high end including Michelin star restaurants in the region.
