Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

The setting is the stunning Isle of Skye. It will take your breath away in the depth of winter when frost or snow picks out wonderful details or in Spring time when the blackbirds sing and the primroses abound or in Summer when the vivid blue of the loch contrasts the purple heather or in the Autumn when the bracken yields and clothes the hillsides in vibrant orange. The cottage looks east and faces the sun rising over Loch Dunvegan.
Eating out places abound but most will require a designated driver. The only exception the world famous Three Chimneys which is a mere five minutes walk.
Cyclists will enjoy a number of short or longer haul loops is breathtaking locations.
Those that prefer to walk can do so on local roads or on the heather clad moor.
Boat trips are available from a number of points on the island including Dunvegan.
Groceries can be purchased in Supermarkets in Broadford, Portree or Kyle but guests may prefer to support local grocers in Glendale and Dunvegan. The weather is changeable but never dull and beautifully complements the stunning landscape.
