Barbara and Alan are both edging towards retirement. Barbara works part-time for a charity and Alan is self-employed, having spent all of his career working in education. We did lots of successful home exchanges when our sons were teenagers, including California, New York, France, Spain, and several in the UK. As we're no longer restricted to school holidays, we have decided that this is the ideal time to do some more home exchanges in the UK.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is in a great location in the city of Edinburgh. We are a 2 minute walk from beautiful countryside and just a 15 minute bus journey to the heart of Edinburgh. There are river walks on our doorstep, the perfect way to wind down after a busy day's sightseeing. We live in a quiet neighbourhood. Buses 5 minutes walk. Shops, restaurants and cafes a few minutes’ walk away, and a few large supermarkets within 10 minutes’ drive.
Very close to major road links to the north, south and west. Edinburgh Airport is 15 minutes drive away. Pentland hills, cycle paths and swimming pool nearby.
