Dries and I are both warm and social people. We love reading, visiting musea, going to concerts, travelling and dining. Those are some reasons why we choose to live in the beautiful city of Antwerp. We bought this house in Borgerhout because of the neighbourhood and because we fell in love with the edifice.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
The ample use of wood in our old cozy home delivers a very warm and charming atmosphere. This combined with tons of natural light makes our house one of a kind.
It has two rooms with a double bed, a spacious bathroom (with comfortable bath) and a bright modern kitchen with an excellent gas stove. The house has central heating covering all rooms except one. Plants and books are abundant.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a quiet part of Borgerhout, a very diverse and up-and-coming neighourhood. Lower rents compared to the city center have attracted many young people ánd artists and galleries who’ve opened up near us. Restaurants and pubs are also on the rise, going along with the omnipresent middle eastern eateries and shops. This creates a vibrant and interesting place to live, which we adore.
A local bakery with artisan bonbons and a supermarket are at walking distance. The (non-profit) event hall De Roma can be found at a stone’s throw, Trix (music hall) isn't that far either. The city center is a mere fifteen minutes bicycle ride or a couple of stops on the nearby tram line. Antwerp's largest park takes the same amount of time in the opposite direction.
The train stations Antwerpen-Centraal and Antwerpen-Berchem are at walking distance and have direct connections with Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Liège, Charleroi, Ostend, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Köln, London, ... . You can also grab a Flixbus at Antwerpen-Centraal which kind of brings you everywhere in Europe.
If you come by car, you won't have any issues reaching us, as the highway's just around the corner.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The belle epoque area Zurenborg is nearby. Here you might find a wide range of cozy restaurants varying from fine dining to middle range or snack bars. It is also an interesting area to enjoy one of our famous Belgian beers our just admire the impressive architecture.
The north (Eilandje) and south (Zuid) of Antwerp are two districts with a lot of museums, cafés, places to get coffee and restaurant. As we're situated in the east they're easily reachable.
Antwerp is a great place to be location wise to further explore Belgium or Western Europe.
