Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A cosy house with a big garden and a lot of flowers, in a quiet part of Brussels. Right next to the beautiful parks of Jette, where you can walk, jog or play. It takes15 minutes by tram or bike to the trendy Dansaert neighborhood in centre of Brussels. Or take a train to the Central Station, it takes 20 minutes in total. You can park 3 cars in front of the house. We have 4 good bikes (1 men's, 2 women's and 1 boy's) and 1 other decent bike that you can use. There is also close by a 'Villo', a deposit for the Brussels bike rental system. Our garden has two terraces with patio tables and a bbq. For children there is a trampoline, a swing, a goal and a rebound goal. And lots of other stuff to play with, inside and outside. Our cat Lennie and our chickens Magda andJos cheer up the house.
The house has 5 bedrooms: a parental bedroom (double bed), 2 children's bedrooms (a single bed in each one), an attic (2 single beds) and a library with a sofa bed for 2 persons.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is situated in Jette, at the northern side of Brussels. Jette is a quiet place with a lot of green and a 'village' atmosphere. It is no wonder that the Brussels people chose Jette as the nicest municipality in Brussels:). There are a lot of local shops and nice bars, where people in summer time enjoy sitting outside. Our street is a dead end so there is very few traffic. Together with the neigbors we maintain a herb garden, where you are free to pick some herbs. Nearby there are some parks whith sport facilities and playgardens for all ages. If you like running, there is a marked route of 10 km.
The center of Brussels is never far away and is easy to reach by pubic transport, train or bike. And for those who are fan, the atomium is really close by. Also the motorway is very close.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Needless to say what there is to see and do in Brussels. We therefore limit ourselves here to the attractions in the direct neighborhood of our house. From our house, it is a very short walk to one of the 5 parks in Jette. At place Mercier, at the train station, there are some nice, typical Brussels bars. Excelsior is our favorite café. At walking distance is the René Magritte Museum, showcasing the painter's ancient house, the very new Museum of Abstract Art and the Atomium. At the end of our street, you'll see the Brugmann hospital. The hospital is a creation of Victor Horta. You are free to walk on the site and to admire the building complexes. And last but not least, we have 1 of the best friteries in Brussels, just in front of the Brugmann hospital.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Of course, it is important for us that our house is (rather) tidy and clean when we get back. But even more important for us is that you enjoy your stay and get to know the lively city that Brussels is. We have a cleaning lady and we can ask her to pass by (if she's not on holiday herself). We have a cat, Lennie, who is really nice but rather shy. It is up to you if you let her inside. She's used to live outside for longer periods. If you don't mind, we would be glad if you feed her. If you'd rather not, that is no problem, and we ask one of the neighbors to take care of her. The same goes for the plants and the vegetables in our garden. We would be glad if you could water them, but if not, again that is no problem.
