Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our house is situated in a beautiful and quiet small dead end street of 17 houses, built between 1901 and 1908. It's a very nice and quite spacious house with wooden floors, large windows, a lot of steps (4 floors!), a little sunny garden and a great view. We love to live here for 36 years already.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house, the last one in a beautiful and quiet small dead end street, has a splendid view on the medieval city gate Smedenpoort, as well as on the park that was laid out in the 1800s on the place of the former remparts. Our street is a conservation area close to the city center and the train station (both 10 minutes walking).
While living in our house, you can easily visit the wonderful and friendly city of Bruges, UNESCO World Heritage site. You can enjoy the green surroundings of Bruges (like Damme, Het Zwin …), the Belgian coast (Ostend, 20 km) or the Westhoek with the Great War cemeteries. Bruges is also a good starting point for daytrips to other Belgian art cities like Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and Louvain by train. Bruges is a stop on the main railway Brussels-Ostend and Brussels-Knokke and the station is nearby the house. You can even catch a bus to Paris.
