Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Free standing 2 bedroom home with a separate self contained studio. We are 80 km west of Sydney, (1hour 20 minutes by train). The house is close to the town and rail station (400 m).
The house is 100 years old and has been extensively renovated. It has multiple living areas and spacious grounds. We are open to singles or couples using the studio as an exchange while we are home.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Springwood is a small town of 8000 people situated on the main rail line west from Sydney. The town offers all the usual amenities you would expect - doctors, dentists , super market, coffee shops, variety shops, library and entertainment centre. Springwood is in the Blue Mountains - a city within the World Heritage listed National Park. The major tourist centres at Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath are 25 to 30 minutes by car or train. There are excellent bushwalks starting within 1 km from our front gate.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
It is a level 400m walk to town - coffee shops, station etc. There are many bushwalks nearby (within a kilometre) and many more in the World Heritage National Park. Katoomba, the centre of the world famous Blue Mountains, has many tourist attractions - 'The Three Sisters', Scenic World ( https://www.scenicworld.com.au ), and Cultural Centre to name a few.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We are former Homelink members who are now rejoining. We have had many exchanges - both with Homelink and Friendship Force International. We have hosted both exchange students and Friendship Force cultural exchanges. We look after our exchange home as if it were our own and expect this to be returned in kind. We have found that exchanges work smoothly when there has been plenty of communication between the parties ahead of time and this is the way we prefer to prepare for the exchange. The house is non smoking and we would prefer outside shoes to be left outside.
