Temperatures range from 10 to 23 degrees Centigrade in winter and 22 to 30 degrees Centigrade in summer.

Hervey Bay is the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island which is the largest sand island in the world. It is also easy to access Lady Elliott Island which is on the southern Great Barrier reef. The Bundaberg Rum distillery is a short(120km) drive away in Bundaberg. Learn about the early history of the local area and early settlement at the Hervey Bay historical museum. View the iconic "Queenslander" homes in nearby Maryborough and do a guided walking tour.
