Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Spacious seaside home(new) ,open plan 3 bedrooms plus study overlooking Dundowran Beach. Spacious main bedroom with sea views. Ensuite with shower and spa. Guest bedroom is also spacious and overlooks the sea. Separate spacious bathroom with bath and shower. Fully equipped kitchen with electric stove top, oven and other appliances.
Only 5 minutes drive to our beautiful white sandy beaches. We are close to all major shopping centers in Hervey Bay. Our house is located on a rise, so receives cooling summer breezes and being close to the ocean is warmer in winter. The city has a wonderful subtropical climate. Temperatures range from 10 to 23 degrees Centigrade in winter and 22 to 30 degrees Centigrade in summer.
Hervey Bay is the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island which is the largest sand island in the world. It is also easy to access Lady Elliott Island which is on the southern Great Barrier reef. The Bundaberg Rum distillery is a short(120km) drive away in Bundaberg. Learn about the early history of the local area and early settlement at the Hervey Bay historical museum. View the iconic "Queenslander" homes in nearby Maryborough and do a guided walking tour. Great weather all year round . Best Humpback whale watching in Australia (August-November).

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Quiet residential. Friendly surrounds. 10 minutes drive to the main shops,restaurants,medical and hospital. A local food store,take away and chemist is only 5 minutes away. Tennis courts for hire only 5 minutes drive away. Arkarra Tea Gardens is only a short walk down the hill for coffee and meals. Great walking and bird watching in a leafy suburb. A series of lagoons close by is great for bird watching. Approximately 10 minutes walk to uncrowded, quiet beaches . A large public swimming pool is 20 minutes away. Close to a golf course ( Craignish Country Club). All amenities are available in Hervey Bay proper.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Arkarra Tea Gardens and lagoons is just a short walk down the hill. Numerous lagoons,many trees and bird life abounds in the suburb. Water park 10 minutes drive. In Hervey Bay, drive the full length along Charlton Esplanade to Urangan pier and the marina. Hervey Bay has a population of approximately 55,000. Restaurants and cafes abound. Walking/bike paths also along the full length of the foreshore. Safe swimming and numerous play areas for children. Take a guided day tour of Fraser Island or stay at Kingfisher Bay Eco tourist resort on Fraser Island. Perhaps fly from Hervey Bay to Lady Elliot Island(40mins) on the southern Great Barrier reef for the day or stay overnight. Take a Whale watching tour to Platypus Bay off Fraser Island to see the humpback whales and their calves on their southern migration back to Antarctica.(best August-November). Drive to Mon Repos near Bundaberg (1 1/4 hrs North) to see marine turtles nesting/hatching (November to mid-March).
