We enjoy the Australian beach lifestyle as we have a choice of beaches and ocean headlands {great whale watching from there} with walks and swimming. Weekdays walking on Fingal Beach (15 mins drive) you can be the only person on the beach but at Greenmount you can enjoy a swim under the eye of a lifeguard on duty 7 days a week. North of us are the theme parks Sea World, Movie World, Dreamworld a 30/40mins drive up the M1 and also are accessible by public transport. Another 90 mins up the MI is Brisbane with an international Airport that has a direct train service to the coast.
Travelling South on the Pacific Highway, Byron Bay is 30 mins away and a day trip could take in the coastal towns of Ballina,Yamba and Coffs Harbour. 40 Mins to the west in the Tweed Valley is Mt Warning which you can walk up and further up the valley is the Border Ranges National Park that gives you a true rainforest experience. https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/border-ranges-national-park
Coolangatta Airport offers daily direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and flights to Singapore and New Zealand. At various times, Jetstar a budget airline, offers cheap flights and you could be in Cairns for $80 and enjoy a reef trip.
We have two supermarkets just down the road and a large mall, Tweed City, that has cinemas etc an extra 5 mins further on. Also we have a selection of clubs that offer a variety of dining and entertainment experiences. Twin Towns, an ex Serviceman’s club, is the biggest and has a great variety of artists. You can also enjoy a sunset drink from the Greenmount Surf club that gives you ocean views back to Surfers Paradise. Three golf and bowls clubs are close nearby and a set of clubs is available.
