I'm keen to continue travelling both in Australia and overseas. Recently, we have toured through the U.S. from the West Coast to New York and through the New England states. My daughter lives in London and last year we visited her, traveled extensively through England and Ireland. We also visited our exchange student and her lovely family who live in Belgium, then up through France to Paris, then on to Rome, Spain and back to travel through Italy. I'm a recently retired school teacher. Apart from playing golf-poorly I enjoy fishing, walking, kayaking, reading, swimming, visiting cafes and restaurants and travel.My wife has a passion for theatre and has acted in numerous amateur theatre productions.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Large 2 storey home. Pete's Place is a short 3 minute walk to the patrolled surf beach. Pete's Place has 4 large bedrooms with a total of 11 beds- 3 Queen and 5 singles. There are 2 large living areas both upstairs and down and a full bathroom on each floor. The house has a large modern kitchen with dining area, 2 decks and a fully equipped laundry. The house is on a large allotment with wonderful scenic views of the picturesque Merimbula/ Pambula Beach bay that can be viewed from the deck, living room, kitchen and master bedroom. The house is fully self contained with everything that you will need. Pambula Beach is located on the South Coast of N.S.W. known as the Sapphire Coast reflecting its beautiful blue seas. Pambula Beach is close to the townships of Pambula and Merimbula and has an airport 5 km away accessible from Melbourne & Sydney. A 27 hole golf course, many restaurants, clubs, pubs, shops, cafes, and great fishing all within a short drive, walk or courtesy bus ride away.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Pambula Beach s very popular with tourists all year round, and particularly in summer. The beach is well protected with surf lifeguards during summer months. Pambula Beach is a beachside small town and has a general store- small restaurant and take away food. Pambula Beach is known for its fishing, boating, golf, shopping in local areas and lovely local walks. There is also a large caravan park, gymnasium, public pool and private school. An 8 km bike track begins here, winding through Pambula, past the local golf course, shops and restaurants offering local oysters and through to Merimbula. A 6 km surf beach, smaller beach and river mouth with azure blue and emerald green tidal waters are all within easy walking distance. Nearby, is the township of Pambula with its historic shops, restaurants, pubs and amenities. Within a short 5 minute drive is the larger Merimbula township with more clubs, large shopping supermarkets, fashion stores, restaurants, cafes and surrounded by more lakes.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Attractions nearby include surf beaches, calmer tidal rivers and lakes. Enjoy walks down to the river mouth and along the sand to then fish off the beach or rocks. Plenty of other fishing spots abound with wonderful surf fishing as well. We also enjoy kayaking in the local lakes, walks nearby, being picked up by the courtesy bus to the local pubs and clubs for a night out. www.visitnsw.com/Merimbula. In summer months we walk to our nearby beach for a sunbake and swim before heading off to a golf game www.merimbulagolf.com.au or bike ride. During the summer months the windsurfing championships are held just off the Pambula Beach river mouth as well as on the main surf beach hosting the surf rescue titles.With lots of parks, local swimming pool, skateboard parks and ovals all a walk away the kids are kept busy.If shopping beckons a short car or bus ride into Merimbula or the local Pambula township provides local fashion stores and larger supermarkets.

It is important that the house is left tidy and clean as you found it. There is a unit attached to the house which has its own car park and the driveway is shared. The unit is permanently rented so access to the driveway is required for the tenant's car park. Noise should be kept at an appropriate level. An ALDI coffee machine in the kitchen is available for guests. ALDI coffee capsules must be used.The hot water system has a large tank and needs to be turned on at the mains in the meter box and turned off on departure. A car can be supplied upon request. A key box is supplied with akey code.
