Our home is light and airy on an elevated block with mountain views in a quiet residential area within an easy drive to the Queensland Gold Coast. It is only a 5 minute drive to the Murwillumbah township, which itself has excellent restaurants, hotels, organic supermarkets, deli, boutique shopping, galleries, antique and vintage wares. Our home has three large bedrooms and a second living area with a comfortable queen sofa bed that can be used as a fourth bedroom and two well sized bathrooms with separate toilet. The front of the house
has a large deck with views to the Springbock Range and the rear has a large private covered deck set in a lush tropical garden with a small but deep pool. The back area has a
cozy fire pit equip for cooking, two barbeques and plenty of seating. Our home is suitable for children as our four grandchildren visit frequently. The local council swimming pool has an excellent aquatic center with a waterslide set into the hillside and high dive board.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Murwillumbah is a beautiful historic township on the River Tweed located 45 minutes drive from iconic Byron Bay, 20 minutes to spectacular Norther Rivers beaches and 30 minutes to the Queensland Gold Coast. Sitting by the caldera of an extinct volcano, the town is surrounded by the jutting peaks, which include spectacular Mount Warning and the numerous national parks providing scenic walks, vistas, waterfalls and waterways. The caldera also provides the fertile soil supporting abundant fresh produce with the weekly Murwillumbah farmers market one of the best in the region. For the keen golfer, the towns beautiful golf course is less that one kilometer away. The now unused railway line, between Murwillumbah
and the coast, has recently been converted to a paved cycleway through small villages with bike hire available. Our home sits in a quiet residential area, only 5 minutes drive from the center of the town.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would like our house to be in the same condition when we return to when we left and we would do the same ourselves. Due to the warm climate our plants would need watering every few days but aside from that you would be welcome to take advantage of our location and visit other parts of this beautiful country as you please. Should you like to travel further, let us know and we can make arrangement. Our daughter lives about half an hour away and would be available should you need any assistance.
