Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Maslin Beach, 45 minutes drive south of Adelaide is situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, in South Australia. It's known for its wine regions, and 5 minute drive away you will find the world renown McLaren Vale wine region. The town of Willunga offers local produce at the Willunga Farmers Market. There are many beautiful beaches (other than Maslin Beach - the best and we're not the only ones who think so) along the rugged coastline including Port Willunga, with an 1800s shipwreck. In the south, whales, seals and dolphins can be spotted in Encounter Bay, near the town of Victor Harbor. Reach the southern end of the peninsula (1/12 hours drive) and you will meet the Ferry across to Kangaroo Island, a destination on it's own. Drive North for 30 minutes towards the Adelaide Hills for more beautiful scenery and award winning wines, restaurants and tourist towns. All this and the beautiful city of Adelaide is an easy 45 minute drive or train ride away.
