We are two early retirees, loving travel, skiing, wine and sharing our lovely cottage in the Royal National Park, NSW, close to Sydney by ferry and train. Trained as librarian and engineer, we both moved into business and became executive managers in the Information and Infrastructure industries. We also love reading, art, gardening and cooking.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A cosy fisherman’s cottage, tastefully updated and situated amongst an established garden of native and exotic plants, surrounded by tree tops and water glimpses. We have two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one is an ensuite), and a comfortable lounge and dining room. We are keen cooks so the kitchen has plenty of equipment and a country oven/range with an induction cooktop. The covered & enclosed deck is a favourite spot in summer (the blinds can be raised and the deck roof has electric louvres) and also very nice in winter. The laundry has a Miele washing machine and a dryer, although we usually use the clothes line. We are a 15 minute walk to the town and the ferry to the city, and close to beaches and walking tracks.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Bundeena is a lovely village surrounded by the Royal National Park, the world’s second oldest National Park. Along with nature and walking trails, we have bay and surf beaches, boating and canoeing, horse riding, fishing and whale watching nearby. The village can also be accessed by train and ferry from central Sydney in around 1.5 hours, with a good connection to the airport train line as well. We have a good supermarket and many cafe and restaurant options in walking distance, and an active art community open to the public on the first Sunday of the month along with a small craft market. Whilst a vehicle will help you enjoy all the pleasures of the area, with public transport and a tourist bus service within the National Park, it’s possible to do a lot without needing a car.
