We are a family of four and we are all British, even though we live on Australia. Sam, my husband, is a freelance musician who plays several instruments and composes music for TV and film. I used to be a History teacher in the UK, but I felt like a change, and now I'm nearing the end of my first novel! Our girls are called Jemima and Annabel and they are six and eight years old. We lived in Surrey in the UK until July 2014. That was when we moved to the most beautiful part of the world that we had ever visited - the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. We had completed a few exchanges on the East Coast of Australia the previous year, and after that holiday we knew that we had left our hearts by the ocean. However, we still love the UK and plan to visit every year in six week stretches, which is the main reason why we've decided to do more home exchanges. We used to complete several swaps per year in the UK and found that it opened up the world for us - we can't wait to start exploring again!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Welcome to Paradise! We are fortunate enough to live in a gorgeous, private, modern, family-friendly four bedroom family home just a five minute drive from the beautiful Peregian Beach. We have a large pool, a pizza oven and bbq, and complete privacy; no other properties overlook our garden. We have a long driveway and live on a safe cul-de-sac. The four bedrooms are all doubles, although two are set up for children. There is a music room and a media room where we have a projector set up for watching TV and movies on a huge screen. In our games room we have table football, darts and heaps of board games. There is also a hot outside shower for when you come back from the beach all covered in sand!

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood has many young families and retirees living here. Our street is very small and quiet, but just round the corner there are often children playing on their bikes, skateboards and trampolines. The community is exceptionally close, welcoming and supportive. We have a golf course very close by, as well as numerous parks, playgrounds and ponds. There are walking and cycle paths everywhere and there is the constant sound of exotic birds as they fly overhead. We are a couple of minutes from a supermarket, chemist and bottleshop and a ten minute drive from a larger shopping centre.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The Pacific Ocean is crystal clear and warm enough to swim in all year round. The humpback wales visit us throughout the winter months and can often be seen from the beach. In the hinterland there are the stunning villages of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton with their craft shops, tea rooms, wine tasting and stunning views, all under an hour away. Waterfalls, rain forests and spectacular wildlife are all around us. There are high quality craft and farmers' markets in Eumundi and Noosa every week and we are close enough for a day trip to Moreton Island with its incredible snorkelling, sunsets and wild dolphins. Fraser Island can be accessed by 4x4 after a 2 hour drive north and you can even take a day trip to Lady Musgrave Island on the Great Barrier Reef from Bundaberg, 3 hours north. Brisbane is 1.5 hours south and the Gold Coast is a further hour on from there, if you feel like some theme parks! We have fallen in love with this part of the world and we are sure that you will too.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would appreciate the house being very well looked after. No shoes in the house as we have new carpets. The pool will need to be checked, but there is a maintenance man. We have a veggie garden which needs a lot of watering but the other plants are ok in the heat! The minimal lawns will need to be maintained during longer exchanges. Please be considerate of our wonderful neighbours. They are all used to our children, but we respect that we live in a close community and always avoid excessive noise.
