Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is a large, modern, comfortable and colourful beach house designed for open indoor and outdoor living in a warm climate and it is set in lush tropical gardens.
We are just a level 200 metre walk through natural rainforest reserve to the surf. Our beach overlooks Byron Bay (Australia's most easterly point) to the south and is bordered by the beautiful Brunswick estuary whilst northwards it joins the delightful Tweed coast. We are just 1 1/2 hrs. south of Brisbane and a 1/2 hr sth of the Queensland Gold Coast (both with airports). Sydney is a one hour flight away. Many both exciting and peaceful attractions are easily accessible from our area and our late model Lexus has sat/nav. Byron Shire has a particularly diverse and fascinating local culture with many Music, Arts and Literary events taking place throughout the year and also a myriad of outdoor activities and attractions to enjoy, including sea kayaking with the dolphins, whale watching, surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling, sky diving and hot air ballooning.
We live in a very quiet, peaceful and neighbourly area with no through traffic. We are just a five minute leafy sand dune walk through a tropical reserve to the beach with many native animals to observe on the way. Our neighbourhood is particularly welcoming with a lovely spirit of friendship, diversity and 'community'. There is a small park and free neighbourhood tennis court 50 metres from our front door and next to the beach access 'boardwalk'. Golfing, bowls and shopping are all within minutes and Byron Bay, famous for it's beauty and water sports; surfing, diving and kayaking with the Dolphins, Whale watching and panoramic coastline is just fifteen minutes by car. A fifteen km walk along the beach and river fishing are on our ‘doorstep’ and there are many swim spots with the beach in front, the river behind. The nearby hinterland offers quite a different experience with tropical rainforests, wildlife, ancient volcanic Caldera landscape and amazing views. Our local area does offer a great diversity of natural, cultural, and native wildlife experiences, sporting and creative attractions ...but also simply the peace of a gentle and quiet neighbourhood with every possibility at your doorstep.
