We are a retired couple, an ex contract administrator and court reporter, and have had 25 wonderful holidays since we joined the home exchange community in 2005, with with Homelink until 2016 then with HomeExchange until Covid came along and curtailed travel for us. Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our house overlooks the water in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, with sea access to Mooloolaba Harbour and the Pacific Ocean. It is equipped for quiet, comfortable holidays, and is set in a small cul-de-sac within 25 minutes walk (5 minutes by car) to several beautiful sandy patrolled surf beaches, a range of good restaurants and sight seeing opportunities. If guests enjoy the outdoors there are beautiful mountain hinterlands, kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, fishing, walking, hiking and sailing activities available. We have Boogie boards, fishing rods and kayaks for two guests. Sea Life, a famous aquarium, is at Mooloolaba beachfront and Australia Zoo, Mary Cairncross Reserve at Maleny and the Glasshouse Mountains are short car trips away in the hinterland. There are coastal walking tracks from Mooloolaba's Point Cartwright to Caloundra about 20km south of us and at Noosa Heads National Park about 40km up the coast from Mooloolaba. We also have whale watching tours in season and dive sites on a sunken warship and at nearby bommies.
There are too many other options to list here, but the Adventure Sunshine Coast website (https://www.adventure.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au) provides a comprehensive range of possibilities and the Mooloolaba information booth (https://www.visitmooloolaba.com.au) on our sea front esplanade offers all manner of tour possibilities and advice on local points of interest and activities.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is very easy to reach by car from Brisbane International Airport (takes about an hour and a half on the motorway). Maroochydore Airport is much closer to our house, about 20 minutes by car, but is mainly for domestic flights and occasional direct international connections, mostly to New Zealand.
Mooloolaba is small, one of many close-packed towns that make up the Sunshine Coast. It boasts a very good supermarket and many restaurants within 25 minutes walk of our house (5 minutes by car) offering local and international fare and seafood supplied by our local ocean trawlers. A kilometre from our house is a street of restaurants, takeaways, a pharmacy, gyms and health professionals' rooms, and there is a major shopping mall about three kilometres south of our house in Kawana which offers a wide range of services and retail outlets. Council buses serving a stop 180 metres from our house can take you to the Kawana shopping mall. About 10 minutes by car from our house is Sunshine Plaza which is bigger and includes major Australian department stores.
