Having the car there was great and saved each of us having to rely on public transport. Margaret and Alans' home exchange provided us with the perfect location to explore the many wine regions of South Australia including the Fleurieu Peninsula. Scott and I found it easy keeping our morning walk routine up as there were plenty of walking tracks at the end of the street. The information gathered of local events taking place during our visit certainly made decision making of what to see and where to go easy. Thank you for also going above and beyond to provided us with information for the next part of our journey, driving the Nullarbor from Perth to Melbourne. Thank you Alan and Margaret for a wonderful home exchange and a great SA experience. We had a fabulous exchange and I'm sure that was due to our communication.

Read More...We have recently returned from a very enjoyable three week stay at Margaret and Alan's house in Lynton. The house itself is spacious and comfortable with fabulous views of Adelaide or the sea from every window and the decking. It is surrounded by mature eucalyptus trees and there is lots of birdlife with Rosellas and Lorikeets visiting daily. There are also several local walking trails. It is very conveniently located in a quiet neighbourhood but only a five minute walk to the local train station for the short ride to the city centre. Many lovely beaches are easily accessible by car as are the Adelaide hills for walks and wineries and the Fleurieu Peninsula for McLaren Vale wines and more beaches. Kangaroo Island is also possible for an overnight trip. Margaret and Alan were very hospitable and welcoming. Alan picked us up from the airport, they gave us lunch and provided us with lots of information about the house and area. Margaret was a great communicator throughout despite long interruptions in the arrangements due to Covid! An excellent exchange - we recommend it. Margaret and Alan left our house in immaculate condition.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is in an elevated position just as the Adelaide Hills begin to rise from the Adelaide plain. The house is built of double brick with a tiled roof, solar panels, water tanks and an easy-care native garden.
We have views to the city in the north and to the sea in the west. The panorama of the sunset over the sea is a highlight of the views from our home.
Adelaide is a beautiful city with a rich cultural life eg live music, theatre and outstanding restaurants. We love our sports here, too - check out the new Adelaide Oval and the Bradman Museum. Adelaide has all the advantages of living in a city without many of the hassles such as traffic jams.
There are wonderful vineyards and wineries within easy reach eg Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale. The Adelaide Zoo (with 2 adorable pandas - the only pandas in Australia) and the Cleland Wildlife Reserve are great for the animal lovers.
We are experienced exchangers with previous European, New Zealand and Australian exchanges.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We enjoyed an exchange to the Yarra Ranges, Vic. in early December 2017. We are looking for exchanges in 2018 and 2019 - long-term or short-term exchanges are fine. Our home is family-friendly, relaxed and comfortable and we simply expect to return home to find it as we left it.
