Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Single storied with three bedrooms (queen, double and single, plus a futon in the family room), study, two bathrooms, enjoyable front and back gardens with pool. Our home is 26 years old, with all new fixtures and fittings, plus pool. And did I mention that we have a pool??? Pleasant area with detached homes, nice gardens and private swimming pools, mostly retirees or professional workers with young families. Loads of agreeable walks around the nearby canals. Plenty of local shopping centres, the nearest one being Hope Island Market Place (HIMP) that you would have passed on the way to our home, just a couple of minutes drive away. We are an easy drive to Movie World, Australian Outback Spectacular, Dream World, with Sea World and other tourist places just a little further away. The Gold Coast is Australia’s main tourist resort, but our home is in a quiet residential area.
We are almost 2km from public transport, so using a car would be handier for you. But if we are doing a swap to New South Wales or Queensland, we will not have a car available for swapping, sorry.

In the other direction is Runaway Bay Shopping Centre. From there is a library across the road, plus yet another tavern and bottle store nearby. Several pleasant walks around our neighbourhood, particularly those around the local canals.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The walks around this area are popular with locals, dog walkers and those wanting an agreeable stroll. From our house it is a short drive to Hope Island Market Place (HIMP) and a couple of minutes further to Hope Island Shopping Centre with a pub and marina, and plenty of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. In the other direction is Runaway Bay Shopping Centre which is our favourite place to shop. From there is a library across the road at Runaway Bay, plus a tavern and bottle store nearby. At Southport there are two cinema complexes, then at Harbourtown there is a cinema and loads of outlet shops that are popular with locals and tourists alike. The famous Gold Coast beaches are south of Hope Island, starting at Main Beach; before that there are plenty of pleasant Broadwater beaches which are enjoyable for boating, paddling, walking. For young families there is a playground at nearby (four minutes walk away) Sickle Park.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
It is important for our home to be secure, clean and tidy when we return. Please keep doors and windows locked at night time and when the home is unattended. Make sure to keep the cars locked in the garage, and especially if parked outside. Unless we are on a swap to New South Wales or Queensland when we will be using our own car, we will arrange for our car to be insured for your use, and trust that you will do the same should we be using your car. We would be grateful if you would water our indoor plants once or twice a week, as we will do for you. For lengthy holidays we will arrange and pay for lawnmowing and pool care. We have lovely neighbours who you are welcome to contact should you have any queries, such as about recycling days.
In October 2024, we wish to attend a family gathering in Wellington, New Zealand. We are looking to be away from approximately 8th to 21st October, but you are welcome to stay in our home for a little longer, if you wish.
